Craps Game Positions

In the game of craps, there are several positions that players can take around the table. Knowing these positions and their corresponding roles is essential to playing the game effectively. Here are the most important positions in a craps game:

Boxman – This position is responsible for managing the game and sits at the center of the table. The boxman oversees the dealers, supervises the game, and settles disputes.

Stickman – The stickman is responsible for handling the dice and announcing the outcome of each roll. They stand on the opposite side of the table from the boxman and use a long stick to move the dice around the table.

Dealers – There are usually two dealers at a craps table, one standing on either side of the boxman. They handle all the bets, pay out winnings, and collect losing bets.

Shooter – The shooter is the player who is currently rolling the dice. The shooter must make a pass line bet and roll a 7 or 11 to win, or a 2, 3, or 12 to lose. If the shooter rolls any other number, that number becomes the point, and the shooter must roll that number again before rolling a 7 to win.

Other players – Other players around the table can make bets on the outcome of the shooter’s roll, including pass line bets, don’t pass line bets, come bets, and don’t come bets.

It’s important to note that each position in a craps game has a specific role to play, and understanding these roles can help you play more effectively. Make sure to pay attention to the boxman, stickman, and dealers, and don’t be afraid to ask questions if you’re unsure of anything. With practice, you’ll become a pro at craps in no time.
